About Lebanon
A. Lebanon 6 Days – 5 Nights
Day 1
Arrival in Beirut and transfer to the hotel. Short city tour of the city. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 - Beirut – Biblos- Tripoli- Beirut
Breakfast. In the morning visit to Beirut, a city destroyed and rebuilt many times.
Visit to the Archaeological Museum. Departure from Beirut to Biblos, one of the most ancient city of the world.
Visit to the ruins of the Obelisks Temple, necropolis, Roman vestiges. Lunch. The journey continues towards north, arrival in Tripoli: visit of the crusader castle of St. Gilles and of the Medina with a short tour of the lively souq.
Afternoon: return in Beirut dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Beirut- Beittedine- Deir El Kemar- Beirut
Breakfast. Excursion to Chouf mountains, where it will be possible to admire the green valleys and the breathtaking views.
Stop in Beittedine, clear example of Lebanon architecture of the 19th century.
Visit of the palace built by Bechir Emir, in which there is a Byzantine mosaic collection.
Lunch. On the way back, visit of Deir El Kemar, which was the Lebanon government residence in 16th century. Arrival in Beirut, dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Beirut – Tiro – Sidone- Beirut
Breakfast. All day visit of the south area of Lebanon: visit of the two most important Phoenician cities: Tiro and Sidine.
Sidone is 48 Km from Beirut, and it is one of the most prestigious place of the Lebanon coast.
Its history is still unknown because of the lack of archaeological excavations. However there are some ruins that bear witness to the crusader period ( Sea Castle and St. Louis Castle).
Lunch. In the afternoon arrival in Tiro, the most important Phoenician city, motherland of Carthage.
The history of Tiro is the hallmark of the people who lived there, such as the Phoenician, the Romans and the Arabs. There are some archaeological finds which are interesting to visit: a Phoenician cemetery and ruins of the Roman period such as a theatre, aqueduct, hippodrome, and a monumental arch.
Return in Beirut in the afternoon, dinner and overnight.
Day 5 - Beirut – Baalbeck- Aanjar-Beirut
Breakfast. In the morning leave Beirut for Baalbeck which is famous all over the world for its majestic temples, such as the Temple of Bacchus, dates from the 2nd century and probably dedicated to Venus. On the way back stop in Aanjar, one of the rare examples of ommayade architecture. Return in Beirut, dinner and overnight.
Day 6 - Beirut – Paese Di Provenienza
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take the international flight to go back home.
